FROM: JIM LIMBRICK
75 next month and still going strong. Author of "North Sea Divers-a Requiem " in 2002, and book still selling,-to the up and coming baby divers no doubt! It's a history that won't happen again. You can get it from Amazon if you haven't read it.I remember mostly those divers from Algosaibi Bahrain/ Saudi 1971 to '78. I married the Algosaibi secretary Carole Dutton in 1979 and now have a daughter 31 and granddaughter 7 months. I see a 'photo of Joe Hawkwood is posted, now deceased. I qualified RN diver with Joe in 1955. Good hand. My old mate, ex workshop engineer/ diver for Algosaibi, Frank Jones, is now gone to the big workshop in the sky, but I have no knowledge of anyone else, from Colin Hart or any of the divers, except Kevin Patience and Mick Stagg, both of whom I am still in touch with. Kevin is a prolific author. Would like to hear if anyone knows any of the other guys around that time like Neil Fraser or Scott Smith. Just out of interest, I have an old He inke hard-hat, serial number 2354, but missing the corselet and front-glass. If anyone can help me out with putting this hat together I would be very grateful; would pay for the items of course, and there's a drink in there somewhere, too!! Healthwise my doc' has very kindly told me that he can't believe I,m the age I am, so that's nice to know. Am still licenced to drive our 3 1/2 ton motor-home, and get around in that quite a bit. Get over to the other side quite a bit too, to Germany/ Holland/ France and Belgium, etc. Easy-Peasy really as we live only 3 miles from Dover Harbour, where Joe Hawkwood did quite a lot of hard-hat work. Great memories of the old days, so if anyone is out there, give us a shout!!seafarer43@btinternet.com
